It's that time of year again...basketball season!! We have a nice group of girls, all returning from last year's team that finished 15-6. We're hoping to have a better finish this time and have a lot of fun along the way. Check out the links below for a couple of preseason features on our team that local TV stations did. The girls are off to a 3-1 start and looking forward to getting going in the new year. We hope you had a merry Christmas and may God bless you in 2014!

2013 Class A State Champions!!

In 2011 these boys took 3rd, last year they took 2nd and last Saturday they dominated their way to an 81 point win to capture Hamilton High School's second boys state XC title!
What a special group of young men!

Anthony was the individual state champion! What a finish he had...followed the game plan perfectly and won going away. So proud of his discipline and passion. He was not going to be denied! Easton was a warrior holding on to 4th the entire race until the last 20 meters to finish in 5th. Cameron placed 10th, Karill placed 13th, Greg ran very well to place our number 5 runner in the top 20 at 19th! Even Kole and Tanner as our 6th and 7th runners helped build on the gap between us and second place Corvallis by placing in front of their 4 and 5 runners! The times were good, the day was perfect and our boys are champs! Enjoy the pics below. Thanks too for all of you that came to support us!

Anthony Interview (halfway)

This will be a hard group to replace, especially seniors Easton Albert, Anthony Schmalz, Greg Beck, Sam Parker and Adam Hanson. Quality kids. Leaders and unbelievable teammates...I couldn't be prouder. Looking forward to trying to defend our title with returners Karill, Cameron, Kole and tanner. Let's do it again boys. P.S. Our girls should be a top 3 team next year as well!! Congrats to them for placing 5th out of 20 teams...terrific season girls. God bless the Broncs!

The Broncs Soar at The Mountain West Classic!

The Mountain West Classic...over 2000 high school cross country runners. What a weekend for the Broncs! The varsity boys led by Anthony's 4th place and Easton's 8th place, finished higher than any previous Hamilton and probably higher than any Class A team in recent memory. The boys secured 4th place out of 59 complete teams!! We were beat by Kalispell Glacier, Bozeman and University High out of Spokane, WA. Our boys beat 55 other 4A, 3A, AA, A, B and C schools. A State "A" championship is our ultimate goal but honestly, for those who understand our sport and this event...taking 4th at the Mountain West Classic was a bigger accomplishment. I am so very proud of our team.
Our girls placed 24th, but were the #3 Class A team. I like our chances to potentially place at state in 4 weeks. We had several personal records and are only getting better each week. Kaitlin is just 8 seconds away from breaking the school record and was the #5 Class A girl to cross the finish line. Way to go ladies!!
It's all about mental resiliency and staying heathy from here on out. We can do it. We will do it!
Go Broncs.

What it's all about!

This July, Carla and I took 13 young ladies ages 15-19 on a tour through Germany. We once again traveled with NBC Camps and had a terrific time! We played 7 games against a variety of competition, saw the sights, made new friends and grew closer to the Lord. What a blessing it was to coach this team and lead them in life skills development. We had a ton of fun and finished strong. Thanks to all of you who made this possible for these young ladies to see a different part of the world, share their faith and learn how to lead.

The end of a terriifc season!

The Lady Broncs ended the season with a heart wrenching overtime loss to Stevensville in a Monday night challenge game...winner went to state, loser went home. It was tough for a team made up of 9 sophomores, 1 junior and 1 frosh with very high expectations to finish our season without going to state. We finished 15-6 and will be very driven to get there next year. I am very proud of these ladies and feel blessed to have coached them this season...and really excited to do it again next year. I can hardly wait until getting back to work this summer. Go Broncs!!!

Lots of Pub for the Lady Broncs!

Lady Broncs in The Missoulian

Check out the links above. The number 1 Class A ranked team in the state is somewhat of a novelty around these parts! We are currently 12-3 and start 4 sophomores and a junior...the main reason for the interest. We're having fun but have a long way to go. Only 3 regular season games left and then it's on to the divisional tourney in Butte.
Go Broncs!!

It's that time of year again!! This is the 2012-13 version of the Lady Broncs. We are off to a 4-0 start and play league leading (4-0) Butte Central tomorrow night at 7:30. If you're in town, stop by and watch a very entertaining girls basketball team. We make our share of mistakes but we play fast, and share the ball. We play intense defense and our rebounding is pretty solid...it will have to be to beat the Maroons:) They have 7 seniors while we start 4 sophomores and a junior...the young guns!

Last weekend was the tip-off tourney. My dad Randy took the pictures below. I took the poster pic!
Merry Christmas everybody.

The Best at Mountain West!!

The course was with us last Saturday at the 2012 Mountain West Classic! Our boys team finished in a program high 8th place in a field with 62 high school teams, several of the best teams coming from the greater Spokane area. The highlight was how well Anthony and Easton did against the 359 other runners in the race...they took 15th and 16th respectively! We were the number one class A finisher. Hopefully this bodes well for us in three weeks at state.
The girls were the number three class A team at the meet. They are really competing. We have high hopes for state, and with the effort they are puting forth every day in practice, I have no doubt these ladies will achieve their goal. Sara Amish was especially strong, finishing in a time of 19:59.
This week is busy with a varsity meet in Helena on Thursday to preview the state course, and our own meet at the Daly Mansion on Saturday. Fortunatley, the air quality has improved a lot and I don't see any possibility of canceling.
We also have a community run for adults and kids at 9:00...so come on out and run our course, it's free of charge and a lot of fun! See you there.

Wish it was this clear!!

Last Saturday the Corvallis XC meet was canceled, forcing us to drive to Polson. Everyone is experiencing smokey conditions but nothing like us here in the Bitterroot. The beautiful mountains pictured above cannot be seen right now...even the river from this distance is tough to make out! Pray for rain! Below are the results and a small story from the Missoulian. We are hoping to compete at everyone's favorite meet on Saturday...the Mountain West Classic in Missoula. Again, pray for rain, or wind. It could possibly be canceled...but we're holding out hope. Stop by the U of M golf course on Saturday by 9:30 to see the biggest meet in the northwest. See you there:)
